38 Weeks...

The time has come where I'm coming to the end of my pregnancy and I seriously can't believe how fast it went by. With Avrey I didn't really crave a whole lot, but you can see from my board that I clearly craved anything and everything. It is beyond crazy to me that in the next couple weeks I'll be going from one babe to two. I'm extremely nervous cause I don't really know what to expect what its going to be like, but I keep telling myself that I'll figure it out. It's just hard for me to have that mind set cause I'm such a planner and can't fly by the seat of my pants. As nervous I am to have 2 kids I'm also excited to finally be done being pregnant...I'm so over not being able to walk, the heartburn and just feeling huge all together.
Beckett:
Your daddy and I can't even explain how excited we are to finally meet you and see your beautiful face. Avrey is beyond excited to finally have a little friend to play with and I just know that she is going to be the best big sister to you. We all LOVE you so much and can't wait much longer!!!!

Beckett's Shower...

Kailee through me a shower on February 9th for the little guy and I'm just getting around to posting about it. We had a pretty good turn out and I can't believe how much stuff Beckett got. He will definitely be the cutest dressed baby boy ever!!! The food was also delicious...we had sticky finger salad and sugar cookies from Sweet Tooth Fairy. Thanks so much mom and Kailee it really meant a lot for you guys to do that for us!!!

Moments Of Cutness...

I have a new idea that I'm going to try out. In the past I was really good about keeping up every month with things Avrey was doing, but as she gets older I'm finding myself slacking on it more and more. So I'm just going to start to post just quick little things when they happen..hopefully this will help me keep more on track. Here's some pretty cute things she's done lately...
  • Avrey always says "I love you", but has never said it on her own. The other day we were coming home from school and the car ride had been pretty quite, then out of the blue she said "Mom...I love you"!!! My heart seriously melted and a tear even came to my eye. It totally made my day and made everything I've experienced so far as a mom totally worth it!!
  • Avrey has always loved to sing, but just lately it seems to just get cuter. One day she was freaking out in the car so I asked her if she wanted to jam out...and I turned on a song (your body...Christina Aguilera). Ever since then every time we get in the car she will tell me she wants to jam, but it can only be that one song. If I try to put on a different song she will freak out. I didn't really think too much of it until I really listened to the lyrics. She has started to learn the words and can pretty much sing the whole song...so I've been trying to find a more appropriate song for her.
  • She loves to sing and dance for Dallas and I. She will sit and yell Mom and Dad until we watch her. Once she has our attention she will walk around for hours singing some random song (some times we don't even know what she's saying) and dance. Then she'll want Dallas and I to dance with her.
  • She knows pretty much all the words to twinkle twinkle little star, the ABC's, and itsy bitsy spider.
  • I was sitting on the couch one day and she just walked over to me and said "what the heck" with her hands up like she was confused. It was so cute and funny how she said it.
  • She was in the bathroom with me the other day while I was going to the bathroom and when she heard me go she stopped everything she was doing and put her hands together and said "good job mommy...i so proud of you" in the highest voice and gave me a big hug.
  • She has started saying boobies...I'm not sure who taught her that, but its so hard not to laugh when she says it. She'll put my bra on and walk around saying "mommy's boobies". So the other day my dad came to pick her up and she walked down the stairs with my bra on saying that. I was super embarrassed cause it was my dad. Then I was picking her up from school one day and she kept hitting my boobs in front of the teacher. Another funny moment was I was in Victoria's Secret with her and when we turned and saw the bras she kept yelling "boobies".

Valentine's Day...

Today was a pretty good Valentine's Day. Because Avrey is in preschool we got to make her 1st Valentine's Day box and treats for her class. I didn't really know about their party till the night before so I spent the last minute trying to be creative and come up with something cute for her. The store was so packed with people and all the Valentine's stuff was so picked over, but I think what I came up with was pretty cute if I do say so myself. I found a cute heart shaped box and decided to just decorate it with stickers, and for her treats I just did little bags of pink, red and white M&M's with a tag that said "Happy Valentine's Day". I let Avrey color the hearts so I she'd have a little part in it too. When Dallas dropped her off to school I guess her box was a huge hit...everyone loved it, and she was so proud of it!! When I picked her up she had so many treats from her class and I could tell she had so much fun. I tried to be a fun mom and made Avrey a cute Valentine's dinner...a heart shaped grilled cheese sandwich and chips, then we made chocolate covered strawberries. I mean what is Valentine's Day without chocolate covered strawberries. Dallas was so sweet and surprised me with flowers at work and then I got my super cute necklace. Man I sure love Valentine's Day...especially the cute Valentine's I have in my life!!

Happy Happy Birthday...

Dallas's 27th birthday was a while back and it sure was an eventful one. It all started the day before his birthday Dallas went to play basketball and when he came home I could tell something was wrong. He was limping and could barely walk. He sat on the couch and showed me his leg. Some kids knee hit his leg...he got a massive goose egg and a huge bruise that took up his whole lower leg. Then the day of his birthday was the day we had a huge ice storm. It took me about 3 hours to get to work so we decided that instead of Dallas trying to get Avrey to school he'd just go in a little late and we'd have Ashley watch her. When he dropped Avrey off he slipped on the porch steps and landed on his back. I had all these great plans...we were going to drop Avrey off to my mom and I was going to take Dallas to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then to Footlocker to pick out some new basketball shoes. But by the time we had all gotten home the storm was getting worse and Dallas was hurting really bad. So we decided to just bag it and try the next week. I felt so bad for him...I didn't even have time to run to the store to get him a cake or anything. He spent his whole birthday laying on the couch with ice on his leg and back. Luckily it all cleared up and we celebrated on that next Monday. At that point I felt like I really had to make it up to him. So, I took him to dinner and get basketball shoes and then I surprised him by pulling out what I thought was a pretty good present. I gave him a punch pass to Davis Golf Course. In the end it all turned out pretty good and I think he had a pretty good day! Finally after a couple weeks his leg is starting to get back to normal and his back is all better!!

Meet Pinky...

On Avrey’s actual birthday Dallas and I both took the day off so we could make her day super special. When she woke up we sang Happy Birthday to her, and she said she wanted a pancake for breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any stuff to make it because I had been out of town so we ran to Burger King and got her some. With her turning 2 Dallas and I both decided it was a good time to get rid of the binky. Ashley had told me about how her friend took her kids to Build-A-Bear so they could put the binky inside the bear and have a new friend in place of the binky. I was super excited because I thought this was such a cute idea, and thought it would be the perfect little activity to do for her birthday since her party wasn’t till the weekend!! So, after her nap and after we all got ready we headed down to Gateway. We walked in and helped her pick out the perfect bear. We even picked out the cutest little saying to put in it. The lady was super cute with her and showed Avrey how to work the peddle to stuff the bear…so Avrey got to try it. Then the time finally came and this is where everything went downhill. I put the 1st binky in to show her how to do it, and then told her to put her other one in. The second I went to help her she wouldn’t let go and took off running in the other direction saying “No, No…my binky”. It was so sad and I felt like the worst parent…Dallas had to chase after her, take the binky from her and then I had to hurry and put it in before she could get it. At that point she wanted nothing to do with the bear…we even tried to take her mind off of it by letting her pick out a cute outfit, but she wasn’t interested. I hurried and filled out all the info on the computer and was even proud of the name I came up with “Pinky”…cause it’s a pink bear and it rhymes with “binky” how original right. Then we left and that ride home was the worst car ride I’ve ever had with her in the 2 years of her life. She screamed the whole way home for her binky, and every time I would try to give her “Pinky” she would throw it as far as she could. We had a few errands to run on the way home so the only thing I could do to calm her down is give her a drink of my pepsi. But, just a sip wasn’t good enough…she wanted to hold the cup by herself and keep drinking till we got to the store. So with it being her birthday and the guilt that I had been feeling already I thought what the heck kid have at it. I didn’t think taking a binky away would be that hard, but boy was I wrong. I think it was harder on me because I seriously felt so bad. I felt that I had this great idea that went terribly wrong and to make matters worse it was on her birthday…the one day that should be the best day ever. I felt like a horrible person because that binky was the one thing that gave her comfort and I took that from her. This experience was so hard on me (and her obviously) that it really made me reconsider even giving Beckett one or staying strong and getting rid of it at 18 months like Dr.Sigg said. I hate to admit, but he was right…If I would have just stuck with it when she was 18 months it would have been so much better because what makes it hard now is that she is older so she can beg for it and cry for long periods of time for it. Whereas at 18 months she’d only cry for a couple minutes before she would tire herself out, and she couldn’t ask for it. So, when it was finally time for bed Dallas and I both felt so bad for the day she had had so we caved and gave it to her. I’ve just decided that for naps and bed time she should be fine to still have it and taking it way for good should happen when she can comprehend the idea that she’ll be fine without. That was the other reason I felt so guilty taking it away…I didn’t feel like she really understood what was going on. So maybe at 3 it will be gone for good.
