Being Pregnant Thus Far...

Over the years I've heard both the good and bad about being pregnant. However, I really didn't believe any of it until I was actually the one who is pregnant and got to experience it for myself. And no matter what stories you hear everyone is different therefore nothing can really prepare you for what you will experience.
Being pregnant is like nothing I thought it would be. I personally thought...OK so I might gain a little weight and everything else will be a walk in the park. Oh boy was I wrong. I wasn't prepared for the emotional roller coaster I'd be taken on.
I definitely know that even being pregnant I'm not big by any means...so don't take this the wrong way, but as I started gaining more and more weight I had the hardest time dealing with it mentally. I know that I'm pregnant and that's just what happens, but I was so used to being the type that I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain anything. So I had a really hard time coming to terms with gaining weight just thinking about food. After a couple break downs to Dallas about how huge I felt I finally just had to tell myself that it's not about me anymore...it's about our little baby and it would all be worth it in the end.
Here are just a couple more funny things I've experienced so far:
  • bawling my eyes out over my hair cut
  • frequent breakouts
  • not being able to breathe, mostly at night
  • going to the bathroom 20 times day and night
  • chronic fatigue
  • realizing that the kid screaming in the store might someday be ours
  • clothes getting tighter and trying to fit into anything with a stretchy waistband
  • heartburn to the extreme (anytime I eat cheese or drink orange juice I can pretty much count on getting heartburn)
I know that this is only the beginning and that I have plenty more experiences to come I'm sure, and even though I'm going through all of this I know it will be worth it once I see my beautiful baby's face. I'm so excited to be a mom and I can't wait to meet our precious little girl.

20 weeks...

As of Saturday I'm now 20 weeks along.
We had our doctors appointment/ultrasound today and once again we were told everything looks healthy, which is always a refreshing thing to hear. Also, the verdict is in, and...
We are so excited, and I can barely believe it!!! Dallas was so cute...he had the biggest smile on his face the whole time. He will be such a cute dad. She'll be daddy's little princess and have him wrapped around her little finger.

It's Finally Time...

Tomorrow can't come fast enough. Tomorrow is the day we get to find out the sex of our bundle of joy, and I can't wait!! The last 20 weeks have actually gone by so fast, it's just been the last couple days that have dragged on. I'm so excited to finally find out what we are having...I think its a boy and Dallas thinks its a girl, so it will be fun to see who is right. We even have a bet for whoever is right...if Dallas is right we have to go to Cinegrill and if I'm right we get to go to P.F. Changes.Over the last couple weeks a poll has been going around my team at work...it was funny to see how people came to their answers. I've heard everything from how high or low I'm carrying to the necklace trick to the size of my lips.

A "First" Time For Everything...

I just wanted to take a minute and blog about a "pregnancy first" I had the other day. All throughout this week I have had moments where I thought I felt the baby move, but I wasn't too sure if it truly was so I didn't think too much about. Last night (8/6/10) I was sitting at Mark and Debbie's and as I was reading a magazine I felt this wave like motion going from one side of my stomach to the other. After feeling that I knew it had to be the baby because that was like nothing I have ever felt before. It was the most amazing thing to be able to experience!! It's a little crazy to think that there is someone inside me, but I can't wait for the baby to get bigger so I can feel it more.
