Happy 24th Birthday Babe...

Dallas had his birthday yesterday and he turned the big 24. If any of you know Dallas he is one of the hardest people to shop for. He never knows what he wants, so it makes it hard to know what to get him for his presents. Well, one day we were walking out of the mall and we were talking about how his birthday was coming up. He mentioned that all he wanted for his birthday was for "his" room upstairs to be finished. As I got thinking about how to make this happen I came up with a great plan. I called his friend James and arraigned for him to invite Dallas to St. George for the weekend. That way with him out of the house I could decorate the room and not worry about him seeing it. So everything went as planned and he left on Thursday (Jan. 21st). On Friday, after work, I had my dad meet me at my house and we put his desk together. Then on Saturday Debbie came over and we decorated the whole room. After the room was put together Kailee came over and we went to Zurcher's to get party stuff, as I had planned for family and friends to come over for a surprise party. Here's how the final product turned out...

After a very long and sleepless weekend it was finally time for Dallas to come home, and the party to start. Everyone came over early...we hung out and watched the end of the Vikings/Saints game and ate some snacks. He finally came home around 8:40, and everyone was hiding in his room. I met him in the garage, blindfolded him, and helped him up the stairs. When he was in front of the door I took the blindfold off and that's when he got to see his surprise. It was so fun to see how happy he was that everyone was there for him and that his office was all put together. I think he really, truly was surprised. I may have started to give it away because I called probably one too many times, but all in all I think it went really good...and I appreciate everyone coming over and being there for him on his day. Thanks again everyone for coming and making his birthday so much fun!! Here are some pictures from the party...

*Hope you had a wonderful birthday babe...I LOVE YOU very much!!*

He's So Good To Me...

Dallas went to St. George over the weekend to spend sometime with his friends for his birthday while I stayed home. He left on Thursday after work, so he met me at my work to say goodbye. I have to admit when the idea first came for him to go down I didn't think it would be that big of a deal since it was only 3 days, but that first night being alone was the worst ever. I cried all the way home and cried even more when I got home and saw what was waiting for me. I walked in and these beautiful flowers were sitting on my table with a cute little note. It was so quiet around my house and it just felt so weird to not have him around and to talk to. This time apart definitely made me appreciate him so much more and made me realize how much I need him in my life. I LOVE YOU so much babe...THANK YOU for all you do for me!!

*He's probably going to kill me for putting this up, but it was just so cute I had to.*

Better Late Than Never...

So I realize that I'm super late on this post, but I guess it's better late to post it then to never post it. My mom and Matt were sealed in the Salt Lake temple on January 5th 2010 and we couldn't be more happy for them. My mom and Matt have been through so much in the 7 years they have been married. My mom is so beautiful and deserves the best...so THANK YOU MATT for giving my mom the world and so much more. I know that all of us kids are so thankful that you give our mother the love she deserves.

My New Year's Resolutions...

• Eat Healthier
• Do a better job at attending all my church meetings
• Finish decorating our house
• Strive to be a better wife/person
• Visit Dallas’s mission
• Overcome a fear
• Plan an incredible 2 year wedding anniversary celebration
• Go to another Denver Broncos game (possibly even a Cowboy game)
• Reach for further growth within my company
• Be better at taking pictures
• Use my blog as a journal…use it to capture all of our experiences, even the smallest moments

I’m usually not the person who takes time to think about what my resolutions will be each year, but with this New Year I now have a different outlook. I find myself trying to remember what certain things I accomplished throughout the year and can never seem to remember all that I had done. So this year I’m trying something new. I’m going to write down my goals so at the end of the year I can see whether or not I accomplished them. This is just the beginning of my list…I’m sure that it will continue to grow over time. And by the looks of it 2010 is going to be a pretty eventful year. I’m not sure that all of these things will happen, but at least I’m attempting to achieve them by considering them as something I want to accomplish.

Caribbean Cruise

Over Christmas Dallas and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean with his family, and it was so much fun! I had never been on a cruise before so it was exciting to try something new and be with the whole family. Here is some pictures of our trip...

*Day 1: we got into Puerto Rico, checked into the hotel and just hung out. When we got to the hotel our room wasn't quite ready so we relaxed outside, which was right on the water. Once our room was ready we took a nap then after we went out for dinner. We went to a little Mexican restaurant in the town...and it was alright.*Day 2: we boarded the ship, walked around and checked everything out. I just remember being so excited and happy to experience something I had never done before with my wonderful hubby. That night we went to dinner in the dinning room for the first time to meet our waiter (Oliver) and Adam and I ended up getting a little sea sick. We went down to the doctor and got ourselves some "motion sickness" pills and once we took those we were fine.
*Day 3: this was our first day on sea and we cruised all day. We spent majority of our time laying out, and eating.*Day 4: was our first excursion...we went to a beach in Barbados.*Day 5: our port was St. Lucia...this day we didn't have anything planned. We slept in and once we were all ready we got off the ship and walked through the city to all the little shops. At night there was a game show that we went to..."The Love and Marriage Game Show". While we were sitting there waiting for the show to start I told Dallas that we should have auditioned for it. Well once the show started they hadn't auditioned yet so they were looking for couples to come on the show. When I was faced with going up there I got shy and didn't want to do it anymore, but Dallas got us to audition. We had to do our best "Dirty Dancing" dance, and I have to admit that I got so embarrassed and couldn't even dance. It was between us and another couple. When the audience cheered for the 1st couple I totally thought they won, but when they cheered for us the crowd went crazy and I was so shocked. So it's safe to say that we won and got on the show. The show was basically like the Newlywed Game. Even though I was supper embarrassed I look back on it now and I'm happy that we did it. They even gave us a DVD of the show...so we have the whole thing on tape.*Day 6: we were in Antigua and we all went on a catamaran, where they took us to a beach and gave us lunch. Once we got to the beach they offered snorkeling to everyone, now I had never done this before so I thought why not give it a try. Adam, Dallas and I all geared up and set out for this adventure. Before you go out they tell you not to touch the coral, so as I'm swimming out I came up for air and when I went back down the coral was way close to me so I tried to get farther out, but the ground just dropped into nothing so it freaked me out because of sharks and stuff so I chickened out and went back. It was definitely fun though to say I did it. This day was also New Years Eve...of course we had formal night and we went to do the count down and we did it in Spanish.*Day 7: New Years Day...we cruised all day again.

*Day 8: we were in St. Thomas...the guys went golfing and the girls went shopping. I got a super cute purse from bebe.*Day 9: was our final day. We had to get ready to get off the ship really early and once we were off we went straight to the airport. Once we got to the airport I went to pack some more stuff into my bag then noticed that I didn't have my toiletry bag and realized I had left it on the ship. Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal, but I had all my jewelry in there as well as my new makeup, which wasn't cheap. So my sweet husband and mother-in-law hurried and got back in a taxi and went back to the ship for me to get it. When they got back they said they had no problems.

We had so much fun on this trip...thank you family for such a wonderful time!!

P.S.
Just so we never forget here are just a couple memorable moments from our trip...
