One Years Old...

Ok, well I think I've put this post off long enough. As sad as it is for me to express my feelings on having a one year old I'm also extremely happy and grateful at the same time!

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on,
Pooped on,
Chewed on,
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do test, or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night to watch a baby sleep.
Before I was a mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would LOVE being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child was possible.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I never knew the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom was possible.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
Since this little one came into our lives our little family has been through a lot. We've experienced a lot of sleepless nights, sickness, happiness, stress...and it was all worth it. I wouldn't change any of it for the world. We love this little girl more than words can explain and we are beyond grateful to be her parents!!!

Here are some of her accomplishments and what she's been up to:
*She is walking like a champ and is all over.
*No more baby food or formula. She is completely on table food and whole milk.
*She LOVES to dance.
*She is such the little talker.
*She LOVES to talk on Mommy and Daddy's cell phones.
*Learned how to go down the stairs.
*The words she's saying..."Mama", "Dada", "Daddy", "Hi", "Yeah", "Juice", "Cheese", "NO","Num-num"...And I'm pretty sure she is saying "Oh shit". I can't help but laugh even though I know I shouldn't.
*She understands the word NO, but she just smiles and does it anyway.
*She knows what a doggy and monkey say.
*She LOVES to give kisses and loves {hugs}.
*She is Mommy's little helper...she loves to help with the laundry.
*She is the best napper. She is still taking 2 naps a day for 1-3 hours.
*She is still sleeping through the night...8-8, and Mommy LOVES it!!
*She hates wearing bows, shoes and socks. No matter how many times I try they are off within seconds.
*Her little laugh lights up our lives.
