At Avrey's 2 week check up we were told by her pediatrician that she may have reflux. He gave me some tips of how to make it better while I was breastfeeding, but after a couple weeks I had to put her on formula and she was still having the same problems. It's kind of scary because she gags herself and when she does that she stops breathing for a little bit. So, when she was still having these problems I immediately scheduled her an appointment. We went in on Tuesday and sure enough she still has reflux, and due to all the spitting up her weight is down too. She is now weighing 7 lbs 11 oz, which isn't good because she should be weighing 9 lbs at this age. So to make things better her pediatrician prescribed her zantac and gave her a new formula. We've been trying this now for the last couple days and things seem to be getting a little better. We are scheduled to go back in next Wednesday to follow up and make sure her weight is getting back to where it needs to be. So, until then all we can do is hope things continue to get better.
