This last weekend was conference weekend...and I just want to take a "journal" moment and express some feelings I have.
I have to say after listening to this conference I want to strive to be better. And boy are there a lot of things that I could be better at. It's sad to say, but this was probably the first time I actually made it a point to listen to conference. In the past I've always used it as an excuse to not go to church and to sleep in, but after this weekend my eyes were opened to the importance of it. Growing up I can remember my mom always having it on no matter if we were at home or in the car. And I want to tell my mom thank you for that...even though I may not have acted like I cared, I now look up to her for doing just that very thing. I noticed that, even if I wasn't really paying attention or were doing other things, by just having it on throughout the house made my home feel a lot more peaceful and there was a happy atmosphere!! Ultimately, 'true happiness' comes from being close to the spirit, and I feel that lately I haven't been as close as I should be. I started justifying not going to church every week, but now I clearly see by going to church every week is the very thing a person needs to remain close to the spirit. Also, attending the temple is a big one...we definitely don't go as often as we should and I want to start making a more conscious effort to attend the temple. Another thing I need to work on is to start making my visiting teaching an important part of my spiritual growth.
I feel that with doing better in these areas it will definitely help me to become a better person, get closer to the spirit and feel that feeling of true happiness. I'm so blessed to have a husband that honors his priesthood and wants to achieve the same things in life! I love my family so much...and again want me my mom to know how much I appreciate her example to me when it comes to the gospel.
**I think this is a good time to say that my new temple picture came yesterday...it turned out so good and I'm so happy I got it**

thanks for your example to me :) I love you.
