HaPpY bIrThDaY...

This last Tuesday was my little brother's birthday. Bryson...we hope you had a wonderful birthday! I can't believe its almost been a whole year since you left. I hope you are staying safe and WE LOVE YOU!!!

28 Weeks...

Last Saturday I was 28 weeks. I had my doctor's appointment on Wednesday where we were able to get another ultrasound. I was so excited for this appointment because we were able to get our ultrasound on DVD. We got a pretty good look at her face and she is going to be so stinkin' cute. The ultrasound made me that much more excited for her to get here. I can't wait to just hold her and love her. It's crazy because I can't believe how much you can love someone before you really even know them.
From the ultrasound they could tell that she weighs 2 1/2 lbs which tells us she is right where she needs to be. I have to go back in this coming up Wednesday to take my glucose test which I'm not really looking forward to, but I keep telling myself it will be worth it.
My pregnancy has been pretty easy thus far...however, I'm just starting to get to that uncomfortable stage. I now weigh 120 and I'm having a more difficult time sleeping through the night. I wake up every morning at 3 AM and it takes me about 30 minutes to fall back asleep. I also toss and turn throughout the whole night...which makes for a long night. I've also noticed that it's getting harder and harder for me to get around.

More Pregnancy Moments...

A while back I posted about some funny things I've experienced being pregnant thus far, and I knew that was only the beginning and I had more to come. Well from then to now I've definitely experienced more crazy things. While on a friend's blog I noticed that she has a really good idea to track her pregnancy so I'm going to start doing it too (hope she doesn't mind)...
  • How Far Along: 27 weeks and a couple days.
  • Weight Gain: from my last doctor's appointment I weighed 115...so I've gained 20 lbs (hard to believe but true). That was about 3 weeks ago so I'm not sure what I weigh now.
  • Stretch Marks: no...hopefully it stays that way.
  • Maternity clothes: I have a couple maternity shirts and maternity work pants, but I haven't brought myself to maternity jeans yet. There really aren't any cute maternity pants so I've just gotten regular jeans in a bigger size.
  • Sleep: up until now sleeping has been great. I haven't gotten up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or anything this whole time. However, over this last week I have woken up several times during the night from an excruciating pain in both my calves. I'm still getting heartburn every so often, but usually I can handle it. I'll never forget that one night I got it so bad I was in tears for about 20-30 minutes, but thanks to my wonderful husband he took such good care of me and got me some medicine even though it was 11:00 at night.
  • Cravings: fresh fruit, french fries, root beer and chocolate milk.
  • Food Dislikes: I really don't have an appetite for meat anymore...I'll still eat it, but it just never sounds good.
  • Movement: yes all the time...it's been really fun lately to feel her move because when she presses up to my stomach I can feel her little body.
  • Belly Button: completely out...it's been out for a couple months now.
  • What I'm Looking Forward To: my ultrasound on October 6th, the holidays (because it will make time go by faster) and all my showers!
  • Milestones: according to my book she is 15 inches long and weighs just over 2 lbs. She has more taste buds now than she will have at birth. She is now opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. More and more brain tissue is developing so her brain is very active. Her lungs are still immature, but she can breathe. I really can't wait for my ultrasound so we can get a good idea of where she really stands.

Over The Weekend...

This weekend we were able to go up to Midway to spend time with the Dayton's. I had never been to Midway before, so it was fun to experience something new. With all the leaves changing colors it was so pretty up there and so relaxing. When we got there we had some lunch, the guys went golfing and us girls went to a couple cute boutiques. Later we all met at a park and had a BBQ. We had so much fun...thank you Dayton's for letting us come up!

*Also Dallas almost had a hole-in-one while golfing!*

Our Turn To Talk...

Dallas and I both spoke in sacrament today. We've been in the branch now for almost 2 years...so I guess we avoided it long enough and our turn finally came. Our topic was "The Church Of Jesus Christ Today"...my talk focused on how the knowledge of the gospel can help overcome your trials, and Dallas spoke on the growth of the church and how throughout the years the gospel has remained the same. I was extremely nervous, but once I got going it wasn't all that bad. Dallas of course did a great job and wasn't nervous at all. Even though it all went good I'm definitely glad it's over and now I'm just nervous for my interview tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well and I can get the position...I'll let you all know.

25 Weeks...

I can't believe that I'm 25 weeks pregnant now. We're so excited, but nervous at the same time. We still have a lot to do before she gets here. It's so hard to believe that in about 15 more weeks our bundle of joy will be here.

This past Tuesday I had yet another doctor's appointment. My doctor told me that our baby is still healthy and right on target as far as growth. At this appointment we were able to discuss a lot with my doctor...he told me that if everything looked good he will take me a week early and he agreed to give me another ultrasound! So, we are pretty excited!!

Another fun and exciting thing that has happened is a few Sunday's ago we found out that my cute sister-in-law and brother-in-law are also expecting their first. She's due in March so our babies will be so close in age! I loved growing up with cousins that were my same age, so I'm excited that our baby girl will have that too. We are very excited for them and couldn't be any happier.

Being Pregnant Thus Far...

Over the years I've heard both the good and bad about being pregnant. However, I really didn't believe any of it until I was actually the one who is pregnant and got to experience it for myself. And no matter what stories you hear everyone is different therefore nothing can really prepare you for what you will experience.
Being pregnant is like nothing I thought it would be. I personally thought...OK so I might gain a little weight and everything else will be a walk in the park. Oh boy was I wrong. I wasn't prepared for the emotional roller coaster I'd be taken on.
I definitely know that even being pregnant I'm not big by any means...so don't take this the wrong way, but as I started gaining more and more weight I had the hardest time dealing with it mentally. I know that I'm pregnant and that's just what happens, but I was so used to being the type that I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain anything. So I had a really hard time coming to terms with gaining weight just thinking about food. After a couple break downs to Dallas about how huge I felt I finally just had to tell myself that it's not about me anymore...it's about our little baby and it would all be worth it in the end.
Here are just a couple more funny things I've experienced so far:
  • bawling my eyes out over my hair cut
  • frequent breakouts
  • not being able to breathe, mostly at night
  • going to the bathroom 20 times day and night
  • chronic fatigue
  • realizing that the kid screaming in the store might someday be ours
  • clothes getting tighter and trying to fit into anything with a stretchy waistband
  • heartburn to the extreme (anytime I eat cheese or drink orange juice I can pretty much count on getting heartburn)
I know that this is only the beginning and that I have plenty more experiences to come I'm sure, and even though I'm going through all of this I know it will be worth it once I see my beautiful baby's face. I'm so excited to be a mom and I can't wait to meet our precious little girl.
