Beckett Boy...

Having two kids makes time go by twice as fast...so that pretty much explains why this blog has been neglected. I knew I was a month behind so I told myself to just update everything when I went to write about him being 2 months. Well things kept coming up, and my blog kept getting pushed to the back burner, and now here we are...the little man is 4 months old. That can just show how crazy my life had been lately. Here's some pics to show just how much the little guy has changed...

3 weeks he started trying to hod his head.
3 weeks he was diagnosed with reflux
Nights were a little rough. There were some nights we would give him his last feeding (10:30ish) and he would just cry until 4 in the morning. Those nights sucked...for lack of a better word. I would just sit there some nights and cry myself. I would feel so hopeless. Daddy was really good to help me out...even though he had to work the next day! I talked to the doctor about it and we put him on medicine to help his reflux and help him to be a happier baby, but nothing worked. Finally one day I was talking to some girls while I was getting my nails done and they told me to take him to a chiropractor. I didn't believe it at first, but they swore by it. When I got home Dallas and I both looked into it. Crystal works for a chiropractor and she told us they see babies all the time. So at 7 weeks we took him in. Dr. Buhler was very nice and so good with him. He looked over him and told me that he had a locked clavicle. Dr. Buhler brought out a tool and quickly unlocked it. He cried a little, but not bad. After that visit it had to be the best $40 we ever spent. It was like night and day. He still would spit up, but he was the happiest baby ever!!

5 weeks smiling and noticing faces, loves his bouncer and swing.

7 weeks started gooing.

8 weeks started eating 3 oz.
2 month check up weighed 11 lbs 5 oz

3 months eating 4 oz and in size one diapers.
Holding head really good
Last feeding around 9:30-10 sleeping till 6 or 7

3 1/2 months last feeding around 9:30-10 sleeping till 8 or 8:30
He gives the biggest smiles that will melt your heart.

4 months eating 5 oz
Still sleeping till 8 or 8:30
Love his bumbo
Loves watching his sister
Loves his fingers

Beckett's Blessing Day...

We blessed Beckett on June 2nd. It was a pretty crazy weekend because we had Kailee and Blake's wedding the day before, but it was a perfect day!! Everyone met at our church and Daddy gave the best blessing. As a mom it's the best feeling to be able to watch my husband bless our children and be a worthy priesthood holder to lead our family!! My heart was filled with so much joy and nothing has made me closer to the spirit then seeing the innocence of a child! I feel unbelievably blessed to be a mommy to the two most perfect gorgeous children ever!!

In the circle were: daddy, grandpa Berger, Bryson, spencer, Adam, great grandpa Boyce, gage, Kyle, grandpa page, devin and Brock Aldrich.

After the service we went to heritage park for cookies and root bear floats.

It was such a perfect day and I'm eternally grateful for my family!!

Moments Of Cuteness

Ever since Avrey visited me at the hospital when I had Beckett she asks me everyday if I'm going to the "hosipital".

The other day she says to me "mom...calm down".

Avrey loves to sing...she loves the scream and shout song by Britney Spears, and catch my breath by Kelly Clarkson, anything Justin Bieber. Then randomly one day she started belting out this girl is on fire.

Speaking of songs one day I heard her singing "zip it lock it put it in your pocket". I thought she was a genius for coming up with a song that made sense, but then she told me Liz taught it to her.

Avrey absolutely loves her baby brother. She tells me everyday "mom he's so cute" and "he loves me".

2 Weeks Old...

Our little Beckett boy is a whole 2 weeks old now...holy crap where did the time go. I took him in for his 2 week checkup the other day and Dr. Sigg says he's healthy as can be. He is getting bigger...he is now 7 lbs 4 oz and 21 1/2 inches. Poor little baby does have a clogged tear duct though so his eye is constantly watering and getting goopy gunk in it. The only thing we can do for him is massage below his eye to help unclog it. Also, the poor little guy might have to get surgery on his little pee pee when he's 6 months old. Basically it's just pointing the wrong direction. Dr. Sigg says it's a pretty easy procedure...he says at 2 months old he'll be able to tell if it's going to correct it's self, but if it doesn't that's when he'll refer us to a specialist to get their opinion. This makes me super sad cause that's the last thing you want you child to go through especially when they're only 6 months old. We are still watching out for signs of reflux...Dr. Sigg says if he has it the symptoms will start to show up here in the next week or so. But other than those couple of things everything else is looking great.
Beckett is such a good baby he only cries when he's hungry and getting his diaper changed. The only thing that's been a little challenging is that he does get up once or twice throughout the night. I guess we were pretty spoiled with Avrey because she started sleeping through the night at a week old...so it's been a little hard to getting used to that. I don't mind so much getting up the thing that's hard about it is getting him back to sleep.
One thing I was super nervous about having a boy is the whole getting peed on. Well sure enough it has happened. He was only a couple days old and I was changing his diaper during the night. I wasn't really paying attention and all of a sudden I hear "what the...", I looked down and the little guy was peeing and it was aimed right at Dallas. Since then I've tried to really be quick about changing him, but he's caught me only a few other times. I haven't been peed in the face...yet ha ha knock on wood.

Spring Break...

It worked out pretty good cause I was on maternity leave while Avrey had spring break. With Beckett still being pretty new I've been super paranoid about taking him out, but the other day was just too nice I couldn't help but take both the kids to the park. We spent the rest of the time inside watching Micky Mouse Clubhouse and Princess Sofia. It was also my first week with being by myself with both kids and I have to say so far it hasn't been too crazy.

More Moments Of Cuteness...

  • We were driving in the car the other day and Avrey says to me "really mom...really?"
  • Beckett burped and Avrey says to him "ha nice burp Beckett".
  • Avrey loves her baby brother she always says to me "Beckett loves me", "I'm the big sister" and "he's smiling at me".
  • She's always telling me and Dallas to go to timeout and she'll always tell us to be nice...I guess that's cute now and probably won't be when she's older.

School Days...

With the school year coming to an end and all the funny stories I hear about Avrey I decided I really need to document those funny moments before I forget them.
  • One day I was at work and got a text from Liz telling me that Avrey only had one shoe. I called Dallas and sure enough she had taken her shoe off during the ride down and Dallas didn't notice. Luckily I had a pair in the back of my car so I quickly ran to the school to give them to her.
  • At the begining of the year every time I would pick Avrey up we would have a line of people we would have to say goodbye to. There was one little boy in particular that no matter where he was when he'd see Avrey leave he'd have to come tell her goodbye. So I asked Liz what his name was and she told me Louise. I asked Avrey who Luis was and she told me "he's a boy". It was so cute and he's all we heard about for a while.
  • While I was at work one day Dallas called me all upset. He had just dropped Avrey off and I guess Tay Tay ran up to Avrey and pulled her hair. Now since that day every day I pick Avrey up she tells me "Tay Tay pull me hair." After talking to Liz I guess Tay Tay gets so excited to see Avrey that she'll run up to her to hug her and Avrey doesn't really want a hug so then Tay Tay will reach for her hair.
  • She goes to the bathroom all by herself. Liz would help her in the beginning, but now she'll just go and Liz doesn't even have to ask her anymore. Which is so weird why can't she do that at home. I'm thinking it's because she see's all the bigger kids doing it and she wants to be like them.
  • One day when I picked Avrey up Liz had a serious look on her face and told me she had to tell me something. I was so nervous for what was coming next...I thought for sure Avrey had done something. Well I guess Liz was having the kids sit down to watch something and walked a way for a minute. When she came back Baylee was freaking out and told Liz that Deigo asked Avrey to sit by him..so she did and when she got up to sit by someone else Deigo started to choke her. I guess he didn't do it hard, but had his hands on her neck. I was glad to hear that Liz did punish him, reported it to the school and told his mom. Avrey seemed to be ok, but every time you would ask her about it she would say "Deigo broke my neck", and now she'll tell me "Deigo's mean".
  • The principle sat in Liz's class to observe her one day and when Dallas dropped her off the next day Liz told him that the principle couldn't say enough about Avrey and how smart she was. Then one day when I was picking her up I ran in to the principle and he went on and on about her. He just kept saying how cute and smart she was. He told me that he's never seen a 2 year old as cute and as smart as she is. And as a pretty proud parent I'd have to agree.
  • I went to pick up Avrey one day and Liz told me to start bringing her juice in a sippy cup instead of just the juice box. I guess what had happened was that while they were at lunch Avrey and her friend JJ decided it would be funny to squeeze their drinks at each other and poor JJ got his chocolate milk all over him.
  • Avrey has all the office ladies head over heels for her. She gets whatever she wants from them and they just LOVE her. She gets a sticker from them every morning and a sucker every afternoon. She also has the traffic lady wrapped around her finger.

When I was on maternity leave I had one rough night where I didn't get much sleep. So I told myself after I dropped her off I'd go home and take a nap. Well I got about a half an hour through my nap when Dallas called me. The school was on the other line with him saying Avrey was playing on the playground, fell into a puddle, got super wet and needed new pants. So I had to get up and go all the way back. I decided to just take her home so I wouldn't have to drive back for a 3rd time.

Baby Beckett...

I had a doctors appointment on March 14th...Dr. Hughes told me that I was dilated to a 2 and casually asked if I'd like to have a baby that next Friday. I was so caught off guard, but quickly told him yes with tons of excitement in my voice. He told me that he'd do it sooner, but he was going out of town. This made me super nervous because I thought it would be just my luck that I'd go into labor while he was gone. Well luckily I made it all the way to Friday. I took the Thursday before off work so I could clean my house, catch up on laundry and run some last minute errands. Friday morning came...we all got up, got ready and met my dad at the Hospital to drop Avrey off to him at 7:00 A.M. Once we dropped her off we headed up to Labor and Delivery, got registered and they took me back to my room. Once I was all settled in my nurse walked in and crazy enough it was the same nurse I had when I had Avrey (nurse Christi). Everything was going great the only thing that got a little discouraging was that I was progressing, but at a very slow rate. Finally around 12 Dr. Hughes came in and broke my water. Once my water was broke I got my epidural a few moments later. I did get a little nervous with my epidural because I was told it would take about 15 20 mintues to kick in and after about 20 minutes only my right side was numb. I kept pushing my button and finally my left side went numb. After that it was a lot of waiting and I mean a lot. We watched every show you could think of...Rachel Ray, Ellen and even some March Madness just for dad. Kailee and my mom were with me pretty much the whole day and then Debbie and Spen came up later in the afternoon. It was nice to have some company while I waited. Finally a little bit before 6 the nurse came in to check me and I was a 9 1/2...she had me push a little bit and just like that I was a 10. They called for the doctor and before I knew it we were ready to go. The doctor came in and I started pushing...the nurse started counting and only got to 5 before I was told to stop pushing. He was here! Baby Beckett was born at 6:09 P.M. and came out screaming. He was so perfect in every way. He was way smaller than Avrey 6 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. Once everything was cleaned up we were ready to let people in and it felt like everyone was there to share our special moment. Around 7 I was finally settled into my room and I made Dallas get me some Olive Garden since I hadn't eaten all day...and it was DELICIOUS!!! We immediately fell in love with our little man and we just can't get enough of him. We are so grateful to have him in our family and Avrey already loves being a big sister.
*Kailee did my birth story pictures and they turned out better than I could have expected.*
